Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Education or a related field
- Valid Missouri DESE Teaching Certificate in Agricultural Education (9–12), or ability to obtain certification
- Strong knowledge of agricultural education content and instructional practices
- Ability to manage classroom, laboratory, shop, and outdoor learning environments
- Effective communication and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous secondary teaching experience
- Experience advising FFA
- Experience supervising Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) programs
- CDL or willingness to obtain (preferred, not required)
Job Description
The Branson R-IV School District is seeking a qualified Vocational Agriculture (Vo-Ag) Teacher for Branson High School. This position includes instruction aligned with Missouri DESE Agricultural Education and CTE standards, leadership of the local FFA chapter, and supervision of student Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) programs.
Primary responsibilities include classroom and laboratory instruction in agricultural education courses, advising FFA members, supervising SAE projects, maintaining program facilities and equipment, and supporting student leadership and career readiness. The position requires participation in evening, weekend, and summer activities related to FFA and agricultural education programming.
This position is contracted under the district’s standard teacher contract with an additional 60 extended contract days to support FFA, SAE supervision, summer programming, and other program responsibilities.
Essential Duties
- Provide instruction in agricultural education courses
- Serve as FFA Advisor
- Supervise and evaluate SAE programs
- Maintain safe learning environments in classrooms, labs, and shops
- Maintain accurate student records and grades
- Collaborate with staff, administration, and community partners
- Comply with district policies and Missouri DESE requirements
Working Conditions
Classroom, laboratory, shop, greenhouse, and outdoor instructional settings
Evening, weekend, and summer responsibilities required
