Job Description:
The Surgical Technologist II is an integral member of the perioperative healthcare team and functions under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role provides technical and supportive assistance throughout the patient’s perioperative experience, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical care in alignment with hospital and departmental standards, policies, and procedures.

Surgical Technologists in this role are responsible for preparing operating rooms, arranging equipment and instruments, maintaining sterile fields, and anticipating the needs of surgeons during procedures. The Surgical Technologist II plays a critical role in supporting surgical workflow, maintaining patient safety, and contributing to positive surgical outcomes in a fast-paced operating room environment.

Education:

• Required: Graduate from a school of Surgical Technology OR five (5) years’ experience as a Surgical Technologist.

Experience:

• Preferred: Previous hospital and/or work experience as a Surgical Technologist.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

• Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within 90 days of hire and maintained throughout employment.
