Job Description:
The Surgical Technologist II is a vital member of the operating room team and functions under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role provides essential technical and supportive assistance throughout the patient’s perioperative phase of care, ensuring adherence to hospital and departmental standards, policies, and procedures.

In this position, the Surgical Technologist II supports surgical procedures by preparing operating rooms, organizing and maintaining sterile instruments and supplies, and anticipating the needs of surgeons and the surgical team. This role plays a critical part in maintaining patient safety, workflow efficiency, and high standards of surgical care in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Education:

• Required: Graduate from a school of Surgical Technology OR five (5) years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.

Experience:

• Preferred: Previous hospital and/or professional experience as a Surgical Technologist.

Skills:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary surgical team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to support dynamic surgical environments.
• Flexibility and adaptability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced operating room setting.
• Ability to maintain professionalism and personal effectiveness while working with diverse personalities, experience levels, and rapidly changing clinical situations.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

• Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within 90 days of hire and maintained throughout employment.
