Special Projects Financial Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Special Projects Financial Analyst supports financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and special financial projects to help drive business performance, operational insights, and strategic decision making. This position works with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to analyze key financial data, prepare presentations, and ensure accurate financial recommendations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Supports the development of financial models and forecasts to aid in business planning and performance measurement.
- Assists in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic reforecasts.
- Prepares financial reports and presentations used by leadership to assess performance and guide strategic decisions.
- Analyzes financial performance by evaluating variances, trends, and key performance indicators.
- Participates in cross-departmental projects requiring financial evaluation and recommendations.
- Provides analytical support for new initiatives, pricing analysis, and cost control programs.
- Assists with ad-hoc financial analysis requests from leadership.
- Ensures accuracy and integrity of financial data throughout reporting and analysis.
- Communicates financial insights and recommendations in a clear and actionable manner.
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or related field.
- Experience: 1-3 years of relevant financial analysis or analytical experience preferred.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
- Proficient with financial analysis tools, spreadsheets, and reporting software.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent problem solving and critical thinking capabilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Work performed primarily in an office environment.
- Periodically requires sitting, bending, and working at a computer for extended periods.
INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:
Performs work independently, analyzes data, and makes recommendations. Regularly determines methods and procedures on new assignments and solves problems using judgment within defined guidelines.
